this explains it all

A Daughter Without Her Father
By Shawn Fugett

A daughter without her father
A most peculiar thing
She has no where to tie her heart strings
She looks for love in all the wrong places
She faces some of life's unimaginable disgraces
For a girl with no father is only half done?
She cannot blossom without the sun
That shined its light upon her and nourished her soul
The fathers laughter that helped her grow
The stern discipline that would guide and show
A girl with no father is so all alone
No one to help her when the world beat her down
In sorrow and madness she would inevitably drown
You miss the mark if you left the girl
You did not see the ribbons of her curls
You missed her accomplishments and saddest times
She missed you more through the world she did climb
A girl with no father to cover her
To say you are beautiful, and make her smile
She's a girl now a woman and no man does she trust
She doesn't know him because she knew you not
Now time marches on and she struggled and grew
But its not your accomplishment don't take credit
Because the world beat her down
And you stood there and let it
Don't judge her or criticize
If she grew crooked or straight
You weren't there, now it's too late
You were the father that walked away
Now a father with no daughter is how you'll stay

...the arguing, the cussing, constantly picking on him
for what he does WRONG & not appreciating him for the GOOD.
it all makes sense now after reading this poem
& of course some research on females growing up
without their father's present in their lives.
It all comes with fear of abandonment, the "need" for a man,
harsh criticism of men, being sexually aggressive, the lack
of sense of protection & when they let us down
we get discouraged, which may affect other areas of our
lives, like going to college & dropping out.
(thank goodness that didn't happen to me, i desire my education)
It affects how we observe things & how we perceive them,
we can quickly turn something positive into something negative.
The most major thing to me is SELF-WORTH!

No doubt, fathers not being there can affect a female.
I just didn't realize just how much it could until
last night, talking to my love on the phone.
We have constantly argued and fought over many things.
The arguments usually started because of me, I'm a very
argumentative person, ESPECIALLY when it comes to men
& I think it's because of my father...
I have sooo much animosity toward the men of this world.
But these 5 months me & Antonio have been together
all I've done is criticized him & we've noticed that about
me from the beginning & I TRIED to work on it but
this act of mine has become apart of me.
But I'm gonna have to change this REAL SOON because I dont
wanna run my baby away & thats my biggest fear...
